Testimonials From Our Partners
Port Salerno Elementary

"Port Salerno Elementary School teachers and students are so blessed to have a great group of 4Cs volunteers. These folks come into our classrooms and support instruction, offer struggling students a leg up and provide the care and nurturing that many students are lacking. In the hustle and bustle that is today 's elementary classroom, Teachers are stretched beyond measure and find it hard to meet the needs of every student.

It's such a blessing to have our dedicated volunteers jump right in and do whatever we ask of them to help make sure that every student succeeds. They do everything from talking to a struggling student trying to overcome language barriers to reading with a low achieving student and asking questions about that they have read. Every minute they spend in our classrooms is valuable time in the life of our children. We appreciate the support and dedication that our wonderful 4Cs volunteers provide on a weekly basis and want them to know they are truly loved and appreciated here at Port Salerno Elementary." - Port Salerno Elementary School Teaching Staff.

My First visit

We recently had a phone call from a new Martin County resident who knew nothing about our services and was inquiring about how she could obtain clothing for her young children. She had seen one of our posters in the local library. Being new to the community, she was in need of not only clothing but additional services including help with rent and food. We put her in touch with many of our partners including House of Hope and Salvation Army where she obtained a voucher to shop at the 4Cs store.

When she came to the 4Cs she brought her five year old twins with her. They were starting kindergarten at a new school and she did not have the appropriate dress code school clothing that they needed to start school. She was looking for work and did not have the extra income to spend on new clothing. They were all very excited when they received clothing, new socks, new underwear, books and a voucher for new school shoes.

The volunteer who was working in our store library helping the boys choose books noticed that the twins did not seem to have the skills necessary to start kindergarten. The volunteer was able to provide the mother with additional resources for her to take home to work with the boys.

Anita's story

Anita has three young children all under six and recently added a fourth to the family. She is a single mom who lives in Indiantown. She comes to the 4Cs store once every four months to obtain clothing for her children. She is having a difficult time making ends meet. She relies on her neighbors to transport her to Stuart. She has had to relocate a number of times and recently lost most of the family's belongings after a sudden move.

We were able to provide her with a used crib and stroller, diapers and formula that had been donated to us, in addition to the clothing items that she received. She was so appreciative that we could provide this service for her and her children. She said that her two school age children both feel better about their appearance for school since they have been coming to shop with 4Cs. She said that she cannot afford to shop in retail stores because she needs the money to help pay her rent.
