4Cs Honors All Volunteers as part of Volunteer Appreciation Month
Caring Children Clothing Children (4Cs) thanked dozens of its volunteers at a recent Volunteer Appreciation dinner. An anonymous donor underwrote the event at Monarch Country Club in Palm City.
Gigi Suntum, executive director of the 4Cs, described many of the activities the volunteers handle to help the 29-year-old local charity continue its mission of providing clothing and tutoring assistance to underprivileged children in Martin County. She said volunteers make weekly trips to gather gently-used clothing from donation bins. They sort and hang clothing in the 4Cs store at 7985 Jack James Drive in Stuart, they help with the 4Cs van when it makes visits to local events, they help with fundraising events and they tutor struggling elementary school students with their reading and math.
“All combined, our store, tutor and Board volunteers contributed 3,000 hours of service in the last year,” she said. They helped more than 5,000 children with free clothing and educational assistance.
Special recognition went to volunteers who chaired the 4Cs golf tournament, the two golfers who golfed 100 holes of golf in the 100 Hole Challenge and obtained sponsors for the event, the Holiday Cookie Lunch Chairs and the three volunteer chefs who baked 12 dozen cookies and were selected as the top cookie chefs of the event.
A special that you also to the four board members who were stepping off the 4Cs board after many years of service.
WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR OUR SPONSORS!
